Holyfield attempting to lure fellow elite recruits to Athens
Escaping the shadow of his father, former undisputed World Heavyweight champion boxer Evander, wasn't easy for elite running back prospect Elijah Holyfield but he accomplished that mission. Now for the hard part, gaining the pledges of fellow elite high school prospects from the Peach State.
Holyfield made this plea Monday to defensive tackle Derrick Brown, athlete Mecole Hardman, receiver Demtris Robertson, offensive lineman E.J. Price, receiver Tyler Simmons and defensive lineman David Marshall:
If the Dawgs were able to land all those commitments Wednesday, Kirby Smart's first recruiting class would without a doubt challenge for the top overall recruiting class in the nation this season. Georgia currently has room to add to its class, as 16 players are currently committed to the class - including the six early enrollees already with the program.
