Hodges, San Diego erupt on offense in 42-3 win over Davidson
SAN DIEGO (AP) Jonah Hodges ran for 176 yards and four touchdown in 11 attempts to lead San Diego to a 52-3 pasting of Davidson on Saturday.
Hodges scored four straight touchdowns on runs of 2, 6, 68 and 2 yards respectively lifting the Toreros to a 35-0 lead with 7:58 remaining before halftime.
Hodges tied a school record for rushing touchdowns, matching JT Rogan, Jon Polk and Oscar Arzu.
Jereke Armstrong started the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run three minutes into the contest. Anthony Lawrence completed a 7-yard touchdown pass to Ross Dwelley to make it 42-0 at the break.
The Toreros amassed 640 offensive yards to 230 for Davidson.
San Diego (3-0 Pioneer Football League, 4-1) has now won 25 consecutive conference games at home.
Taylor Mitchell was 8 for 20 passing for and 143 yards for Davidson (0-3, 2-4).
