Gueller throws 3 TDs, Idaho St. beats Simon Fraser 47-3

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) Tanner Gueller passed for a career-best 338 yards and three touchdowns to help Idaho State beat Division II Simon Fraser 47-3 in the season opener for both teams on Saturday.

KW Williams had four receptions for 121 yards and a career-high tying two touchdowns and Jakori Ford added 68 yards rushing and a score for Idaho State.

Gueller hit Williams with scoring strikes of 37 and 63 yards - the former gave the Bengals a 7-0 lead fewer than 2 1/2 minutes in and the latter made it 33-0 lead early in the second half.

Idaho State had 29 first downs and 543 total yards and limited the Clan to minus-22 yards rushing. The Bengals had a school-record 770 total yards in a 66-14 win over Simon Fraser in 2014.

The Clan has lost 14 in row since beating South Dakota School of Mines on Oct. 18, 2014.
