Cedric Skinner rushed for two second-quarter touchdowns after short drives and Grambling State's defense did the rest as the Tigers ended a six-game losing streak by beating Virginia-Lynchburg 22-7 Saturday.

Grambling State (1-6) limited the Dragons (1-6), a second-year U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association program, to 23 yards total offense in the second half.

Macha Shinhoster gained 109 yards on 17 carries for the Dragons, but four of their six second-half possessions ended with negative yardage. Their only score came on Emmanuel Yeager's 41-yard pass to Devon Stewart to make it 14-7 in the third quarter.

Yeager was sacked by Phillip McClain for a safety on the Dragons' next possession, and the Tigers added a fourth-quarter touchdown on Frank Rivers' 70-yard pass to Anthony McGhee.

McGhee's 34-yard punt return to the Virginia-Lynchburg 6 set up Skinner's first touchdown, and Henry Taylor's fumble recovery at the Dragons' 27 set up the second.
