Gators Move Up to No. 18 in AP & Coaches Poll
The Florida Gators climb to No. 18 in the AP & USA TODAY Coaches Poll after beating Vanderbilt 13-6.
It wasn’t pretty, but the Gators actually moved up five spots in the rankings after winning by a touchdown over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Last week, Florida was ranked No. 23 after losing to Tennessee for the first time in 11 years. Speaking of Tennessee, after their Hail Marry win over Georgia, they moved up two spots to No. 9. Meanwhile, Georgia fell out of the Top 25 after suffering their second loss of the season.
Of the opponents left on the schedule for Florida, only two are currently ranked. Arkansas moved up four spots to No. 16 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches’ poll. After losing on a 54-yard field goal as time expired, Florida State fell eleven places in the AP poll to No. 23, while dropping nine spots in the coaches’ poll to No. 21.
The Gators return home next weekend to host the LSU Tigers for a noon matchup inside the Swamp.
Florida hasn’t beaten LSU since 2012.
