Furman quarterback Chris Forcier completed 14 of 17 passes for four touchdowns, one in each quarter, as the Paladins walloped Western Carolina 47-21 Saturday night in Southern Conference play.

Forcier's pinpoint passing was good for 269 yards for Furman (3-1, 2-0), which had 569 yards total offense.

Jerodis Williams rushed for 175 yards and a 1-yard touchdown for Furman, but the evening belonged to Forcier. At halftime, Furman led 20-0. George Richardson took the second-half kickoff and returned it 99 yards to get Western Carolina (1-3, 0-2) on the scoreboard.

But Forcier picked up where he'd left off in the first half. He tossed a scoring pass in the third quarter and another in the fourth. That one, a 66-yarder to Colin Anderson, was Anderson's second touchdown catch of the night. The Catamounts' Josh Cockrell also had two TD catches, from Brandon Bechloff, but that wasn't nearly enough.
