FSU football moves up one spot in the polls after taking care of business against South Florida on Saturday.
The week four slate of games saw some crazy things happen, but there was no movement in the top seven teams in the latest polls.
The ‘Noles moved up one spot to No. 12 in the AP poll and also hold the same spot in the Coaches Poll. They’ll welcome UNC to Tallahassee in what should be a high scoring affair next Saturday.
The biggest move saw Georgia tumble 13 spots after getting rocked 45-14 by Ole Miss. The latter jumped up seven spots to No. 16 with 2-2 record.
What were the biggest takeaways from the newest Top 25 polls this week, and what does it mean for the coming week? Here’s the three things we found most important from the newest rankings.

Noles Still Alive For NY6 Spot
At No. 12 the FSU football team is still alive for a New Year’s Six game if they continue to win. However, they have a very tough slate of games coming up in back-to-back weeks.
The ‘Noles will host UNC next weekend and then travel to Doak south to face Miami in a huge rivalry game the following week.
UNC is a team that’s 3-1 and is receiving top 25 votes. Miami is currently ranked No. 14 although they haven’t beaten or played anybody with a pulse.
FSU will then host Wake Forest before going into their bye week with No. 5 Clemson on deck. However, it’s possible for Clemson to be ranked higher as they’ll face No. 3 Louisville this week in primetime.
If FSU is able to win out, it could possibly win the ACC Atlantic or at least be in line for a New Year’s Six bowl game.

ACC Still Holding Strong
The ACC still have two teams in the top 10 with Louisville at No. 3 and Clemson at No. 5. Those two teams will square off this week as we’ve already mentioned.
The winner of that game likely wins the ACC Atlantic and the ACC Championship unless something crazy happens.
The ACC has four teams in the top 15 in the country.
FSU coming in at No. 12 and Miami at No. 14.
UNC comes in at No. 23 in the Coaches Poll with Virginia Tech and Wake Forest also receiving votes.

Week 5 Is Huge
Some teams will have no choice but to put up or shut up in week five. As we mentioned, the ‘Noles will face a high-powered offense in UNC. A loss there would be damning to the rest of their season with Miami on deck.
No. 4 Michigan will host No. 8 Wisconsin in a game that will certainly shake up the top 10 rankings.
As we mentioned, No. 5 Clemson will host No. 3 Louisville in a game with massive implications for the ACC and National Title picture.
No. 11 Tennessee will travel to No. 25 Georgia in a game with big SEC east implications. No. 7 Stanford will travel to No. 10 Washington.
If FSU football is able to get a win over UNC, it’ll be able to move up substantially in the rankings to create a big time matchup against Miami the following week.
