Former Colorado quarterback Joel Klatt will become Fox Sports' lead game analyst for college football, moving from the studio to the booth.

Klatt has been working for the Fox family of networks since 2007. He'll join play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson to become Fox's top college football broadcast team. Klatt replaces Charles Davis, who moves to the NFL on Fox.

The announcement was made Tuesday in a statement by John Entz, president of production for Fox Sports.

Klatt and Johnson's first game will be the debut of new Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh at Utah on Sept. 3.
