Former Mizzou commit to visit South Carolina

2016 defensive end prospect Tyreic Martin was slated to play his college ball in Columbia.

That still might happen...just in a different state.

Martin was originally committed to the Missouri Tigers. However, the coaching change from Gary Pinkel to Barry Odom led to Martin opening up his recruitment.

Prepping at Valley High School in Alabama, he will take an official visit to South Carolina on Jan. 15 -- followed by another official visit to Mizzou the following weekend.

The 247Sports 3-star prospect has good size at 6'3", 270 pounds. There's a chance he could ultimately kick inside and transition to a tackle spot. For now, he appears primed to start out his collegiate career as a defensive end.

Landing Martin could continue a hot-streak for Muschamp when it comes to recruiting. He's garnered eight pledges since taking the post as the head coach in Columbia.

As for Missouri, the Tigers have only 12 known commitments at this time.
