Former FSU QB Johnson may have found a new school
Former Florida State quarterback De’Andre Johnson may be enrolling at Northeast Oklahoma A&M Junior College, according to a report by CBS Sports.
NE Oklahoma A&M athletic director Dale Patterson told CBS Sports that Johnson, who was dismissed from FSU after video surfaced of him striking a girl in a Tennessee bar, contacted the school about possibly enrolling.
"There's been some conversation, but I don't think it's [gone far]," Patterson told CBS Sports. "Nothing has been decided. ... It would be something that would have to be looked at and discussed at places higher than me. I think there is some interest on his part."
Patterson said he has watched the video of Johnson punching the women in the bar and said he was shocked by it.
"I was shocked by it," Patterson told CBS Sports. "There's never an excuse for that type of action. There's probably mistakes on both sides, but there's no excuse. It's a shocking situation, especially for a kid who looked like on paper a model student up until that time. It doesn't look like there's anything else in his background … One bad mistake can ruin your career."
