Updated Mar. 5, 2020 1:09 a.m. ET

Former Big East rivals UConn and Syracuse have announced an agreement to play a home-and-home football series.

Under the agreement, the Huskies will host to the Orange on September 24, 2016 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford and UConn will travel to the Carrier Dome on September 29, 2018.

The teams played nine games from 2004-12, when both schools were members of the Big East. The Huskies won six of those meetings and were 4-0 against the Orange in East Hartford.
