In the world of college football, coaches and recruiting coordinators are always looking steps into the future to find the next great college football player. Lately, that game plan has included attending middle school games and youth football clinics, apparently.

Add the Florida State Seminoles to the list of schools making a beeline to eighth grade dances and Bar Mitzvahs across the country. The ‘Noles have given their first scholarship offer for the CLASS OF 2019.

Thompson, a 6’0″, 300 pound defensive tackle from Southern Georgia, got the offer after attending the ‘Noles annual football camp this past week.

Fans of the ‘Noles, and even some former players, joined Thompson’s friends and supporters in showing him love.

For all we know, he could be the next great thing or not even be playing the sport in a few years. That’s the danger of recruiting so young. It’s a slippery slope schools are taking, but since no one is signing papers, I guess there is no harm, right?
