Florida paying assistant coaches $3.3M in salary in 2015
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida will pay its assistant coaches a combined $3.325 million in base salary in 2015, slightly up from what the school doled out under former coach Will Muschamp.
The coaching contracts were released Wednesday, hours before the team's annual media day.
Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins is the highest paid of new coach Jim McElwain's staff, signing a three-year deal worth $590,000 annually.
Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and associate head coach/co-defensive coordinator Randy Shannon also have three-year contracts. Nussmeier will earn $490,000 this year. Shannon will make $390,000.
Defensive line coach Chris Rumph ($405,000), tight ends coach Greg Nord ($350,000), running backs coach Tim Skipper ($340,000), special teams coordinator Kirk Callahan ($290,000) and receivers coach Kerry Dixon ($265,000) signed two-year deals.
Offensive line coach Mike Summers, the lone holdover from Muschamp's staff, is making $190,000 in the final year of his contract. The Gators paid $3.215 million to its assistants last year.
