GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) New Florida coach Jim McElwain has completed his staff by hiring Kerry Dixon II as receivers coach.

Dixon spent last season as Florida International's running backs coach. He has 10 years of experience on the offensive side of the ball, but none as a receivers coach.

Dixon is Florida's seventh receivers coach in as many years, following Chris Leak (2014), Joker Phillips (2013), Bush Hamden (2012), Aubrey Hill (2011), Zach Azzanni (2010) and Billy Gonzales (2009).

A college quarterback and receiver, Dixon coached running backs at Florida Atlantic (2012-13) and Montana State (2010-11), served as offensive coordinator at Stillman College (2009), and coached quarterbacks at Texas Southern (2008) and Morgan State (2007). He started his coaching career at his alma mater, Booker T. Washington High School in Houston.
