Fired Weis was Notre Dame's highest-paid coach in 2014-15

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) Charlie Weis remained the highest-paid coach on Notre Dame's payroll last year despite being fired in 2009.

The university paid Weis $2,054,744 between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2015, according to Notre Dame's most recent IRS documents made public this week. The documents say the payments ended last December.

The documents also show football coach Brian Kelly was paid $1.62 million, including $450,995 in bonus and incentive pay. Defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder was paid $1.1 million.

Athletic director Jack Swarbrick was paid $1.61 million, including $225,471 in bonus and incentive pay.

Men's basketball coach Mike Brey was paid $970,177 and received an additional $1.15 million from its sports properties. Women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw was paid $1.38 million and was paid an additional $300,000 from its sports properties.
