Ferentz testifies at rape trial

Iowa Football Coach Kirk Ferentz testified Wednesday at the second-degree sexual abuse trial of former Hawkeye player Cedric Everson, stating that the former player first denied any an alleged sexual assault, but later apologized for lying.

Ferentz said during testimony Everson first claimed he went to a movie with volleyball players and stayed in his dorm on Oct. 13, 2007.

Ferentz said he confronted Everson days later after his teammates said he had been involved. The coach said Everson assured him the players were lying, but later requested a meeting to apologize for not being truthful.
