Farrier possible Morgan State coach

(STATS) - Morgan State has named Fred Farrier as its interim football coach, and he could be in line for the top job after Lee Hull stepped down Monday night to become the Indianapolis Colts' wide receivers coach.

SI.com reported Morgan State will remove the interim tag from the 43-year-old Farrier and name him as Hull's replacement. If so, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference program would have continuity within the program after Farrier served as offensive coordinator under Hull for two seasons, which included a share of the 2014 conference title and an FCS playoff appearance.

During that season, Farrier's offense set 35 Morgan State records.

Farrier, who played wide receiver at Holy Cross, was head coach at Division II Kentucky State from 2005-09, going 19-25. He's also coached at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Tennessee Tech, Saginaw Valley State and for two seasons as a graduate assistant at Michigan State under then-coach Nick Saban.

Hull led Morgan State to a 7-6 record (6-2 MEAC) in 2014 and a 4-6 mark last season, including 4-4 in conference play.
