Sean Patterson threw for five touchdowns and Duquesne defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 41-17 on Saturday.

The Dukes (6-4, 4-3 Northeast Conference) trailed 17-14 midway through the second quarter before scoring 27 straight.

Patterson's 2-yard run with 3:42 left in the second quarter started the streak, followed by a 10-yard pass from Patterson to Dave Williams with 29 seconds before halftime.

Duquesne, which finished 4-1 for its best home record since going 6-0 in 2003, had 523 yards of offense against the Red Flash (1-9, 1-6).

Patterson had 278 yards on 13-for-21 passing and Larry McCoy added 101 yards on 22 catches. Connor Dixon and Williams caught two touchdowns each with 109 and 100 yards, respectively, for the Dukes.

Kyle Harbridge led St. Francis with 131 yards on 16 carries, including a 55-yard touchdown run to put the Red Flash ahead 17-14.
