ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) A Duke spokesman says football coach David Cutcliffe has not been contacted by anyone at Michigan about the Wolverines' coaching vacancy.

Following a report that Cutcliffe may have turned down an offer, Duke spokesman Art Chase said Wednesday that nobody at Michigan had contacted Cutcliffe or Blue Devils athletic director Kevin White.

The Wolverines fired coach Brady Hoke last week. As in previous Michigan coaching searches, speculation has swirled around San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and LSU coach Les Miles, both of whom played for the Wolverines. But it's not clear how likely Harbaugh would be to leave the NFL.

Cutcliffe won an ACC division championship at Duke in 2013.
