Dr. Dre prepares Trojans for Cardinal
Dr. Dre received a standing round of applause as he took the podium Friday night for a brief address prior to USC’s matchup with Stanford.
His message to Trojan players: “Let’s get out there and beat the Farm!”
Fourth-ranked Stanford visits the Coliseum Saturday to face a surging Trojan team that has won three straight and four of its last five under interim coach Ed Orgeron.
According to USC LB Quinton Powell's Twitter account, the visit made perfect sense.
“I grew up not to far from here and I’ve been a longtime fan of this team, really long time,” Dr. Dre, the Compton native, said. “And since I’m an official Trojan now I feel like it was only right for me to come down and show my support.”
In May 2013, Jimmy Iovine and Dre. Dre (born Andre Young) donated $70 million to launch the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.
