Dez on Johnny: 'Hell yeah, I’ll be mad'

Reporters in Dallas had a long chat with Dez Bryant on Tuesday, and it was all about . . . Johnny Manziel.

More specifically, Bryant talked about Manziel and how the Heisman winner pertained to the Cowboys wide receiver, along with addressing the NCAA, paying college players and his specific NCAA fiasco, in which he was suspended before his junior year at Oklahoma State for lying to the NCAA about his relationship with Deion Sanders.

The real hook, though, was what Bryant said about the Texas A&M quarterback who reportedly signed a bunch of autographs in exchange for a bunch of money, which in the world of the NCAA is against the rules.

Bryant says he'll be mad if Manziel isn't suspended, not because he has anything against Manziel, but because he doesn't think the NCAA rules fairly.

"Hell yeah, I’ll be mad," Bryant said. "I will be mad. But I don’t want him to get suspended. I will be mad more at the NCAA on how they do things. I just feel like it’s not fair. This is something I have no problem talking about because I feel like somebody needs to say something to him and let it be known how they treat people is not right."

You can read the rest of it in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Bryant admits to lying to the NCAA, saying he was scared and that most people in his position would have done the same thing. Bryant also believes college players should be able to sell their autographs. So his feelings on Manziel and the NCAA are not crystal clear, except for one thing: He's still ticked.

"I don’t want anything to happen to Manziel, I promise," Bryant said. "I don’t want anything. I just want them to know what they’re doing is not right. That’s all they need to know and they need to understand that. Seriously. They really do."
