Defense, Jackson help Nevada top San Diego St

RENO, Nev. (AP) Don Jackson ran for a career-high 124 yards and a score, James Butler added 103 yards rushing and a touchdown and Nevada forced five turnovers to help the Wolf Pack beat San Diego State 30-14 on Saturday night.

Nevada (6-3, 3-2 Mountain West) moved into a tie with San Diego State (4-4, 3-2) atop the conference's West Division.

Trailing 14-10 at halftime, Nevada outscored San Diego State 20-0 after the break to complete its third consecutive comeback win. The Wolf Pack scored 29 straight to beat BYU 43-35 on Oct. 18 and rattled off 26 unanswered in a 26-18 win over Hawaii on Oct. 25.

Brent Zuzo made field goals from 37, 25 and 24 yards.

Jonathan McNeal led the Nevada defense - which limited San Diego State to just 24 fourth-quarter yards - with 12 tackles, including 1 1/2 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble.
