DE Chauncey Rivers suspended for bowl game

Published Dec. 16, 2015 3:05 p.m. ET

It's been announced by interim head coach Bryan McClendon that Georgia freshman defensive end Chauncey Rivers will be suspended for the Bulldogs' game against Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Jan. 2.

"Chauncey won't play in the bowl game. He's gonna be suspended for the bowl game," McClendon told Saturday Down South. "Right now that's the only real update I can give you."

Rivers was arrested early Saturday morning for a misdemeanor possession of marijuana. It's the second time this year Rivers has been suspended for a marijuana-based incident.
