Crossan runs wild lifting New Hampshire over Maine 24-21

ORONO, Maine (AP) Dalton Crossan had 25 carries for 169 yards and a score, and Morgan Ellman's 22-yard field goal with seven second left lifted New Hampshire to a 24-21 win over Maine on Saturday.

New Hampshire (7-4, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Association) retains the Brice-Cowell Musket and will wait to see if it's selected to the FCS tournament for a 13th straight season.

Adam Riese threw a 10-yard TD pass to Neil O'Connor for the Wildcats to end a 16-play, 74-yard drive with 12:22 left in the game. Seven minutes later, Maine's Dan Collins threw a 29-yard score to Micah Wright to tie it at 21.

In the third, Crossan ran for a 35-yard score with 5:31 left in the quarter to tie the game at 14.

Riese threw for 218 yards and Collins for 202 but was picked twice.

Maine (6-5, 5-3) and New Hampshire met for the 105th time. The Wildcats own the all-time series lead 54-43-8, have won six straight and 13 of the last 14 against Maine.
