Now one of only 10 undefeated teams in college football, Oklahoma State is No. 14 in the first Bowl Championship Series standings released on Sunday. With a 34-17 victory at Texas Tech, the Cowboys are 6-0 for only the fourth time in school history. In the Associated Press Top 25, OSU has ascended to No. 17 (up from last week's No. 20). OSU, 2-0 in Big 12 play, is No. 15 in the new coaches poll. On Saturday, the Cowboys host Nebraska for a 2:30 p.m., ABC-televised homecoming showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium. Following a 20-13 home loss to Texas, the Huskers (5-1 overall, 1-1 Big 12) dropped from No. 5 to No. 14 in the AP rankings. The Huskers are 16th in the BCS. When OSU faces the Huskers, it will be nationally ranked for the 25th time in its last 29 games. Oklahoma State's highest position in the BCS standings was No. 6, achieved on Oct. 19, 2008.
