Could the Hawkeyes pull off 10-win season?

Published Jul. 1, 2015 4:46 p.m. ET

During this offseason, there has been a lot of talk that Hawkeyes are in desperate need of a bounc back season after a disappointing year in 2014.

They have a favorable again in 2015 and it should be expected that the defense will improve. COuld this be the start of a magical 10 win season though? BTN's Tom Dienhart was asking that very question and had this to say:

"That may be a bit ambitious. No doubt, the schedule will help the Hawkeyes. Indiana and Maryland are the cross-division foes. And Minnesota comes to Iowa City. But Kirk Ferentz hasn’t posted a double-digit win season since an 11-2 mark in 2009. And his 17th edition of the Hawkeyes has some big questions, especially on offense. The line needs two new tackles … C.J. Beathard never has been a starting QB … are there any big-play makers at wideout or running back? On defense, the linebacking corps has a lot to prove, and two good tackles are gone. Iowa looks like a bowl team—but not a division champ."

10 wins might be a bit of a stretch for Hawkeyes fans to expect but getting into a better bowl game and competing for the Big Ten West title should be expected this year in Iowa City.
