Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Check out the biggest winners and losers from the most recent AP Poll from Saturday Blitz’s Jordan Luth.

Coming into Week 9, nine teams were undefeated. As we roll on into Week 10, only five remain unbeaten. Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, Washington and Western Michigan are still undefeated. Western Michigan is the only non-Power 5 team in that group and is also the only team in that group not in the top five.

As for Baylor, Nebraska, West Virginia and Boise State, they all suffered their first loss of the year on Saturday. With those losses these teams chances of making the playoff may be gone. Three of these teams lost very close games, while West Virginia took a big loss to an underrated Oklahoma State team.

With the first college football playoff rankings coming out this week, it seems that the top four teams in the AP poll will be the top four teams in the playoff rankings as well. They are all still undefeated and of the three of those teams that played, that all went on the road and one huge games. It is pretty clear that these are the best teams in college football.

The AP poll will still be coming out with their rankings as well, so here are some winners and losers for Week 10 of the AP poll.

Losers

Boise State Broncos

7-1

Last week: L @ Wyoming 28-30Last rank: 13th

A fumble out the back of their own endzone was the final blow to Boise State. On what would have been the game-winning drive for the Broncos, their QB Brett Rypien lost the ball and it rolled out of the endzone for a safety. The Broncos undefeated season ended right there.

After going down 21-7, the Wyoming Cowboys made a furious come back that included a two-point conversion to tie the game at 28 deep into the fourth quarter. Wyoming QB Josh Allen was locked in all night, throwing for 274 yards and three scores. What is truly a great win for Wyoming is also a killer loss for the Broncos. While making the playoff was probably a long shot to begin with, this loss hurts their chances of making a bigger name bowl game. Such as a new years six game.

Next Week: vs. San Jose State

This will be a bounce back game for Boise State, and lucky for them it should be an easy win. San Jose State allows more points then they score themselves. Boise State should have no problem getting back into the win column.

Tennessee Volunteers

5-3

Last week: L @ South Carolina 21-24Last rank: 18th

Three Tennessee turnovers and a well-played game by a true freshman quarterback led to a long night for the Volunteers. Joshua Dobbs was off his game, he threw for only 161 yards and two picks. The Vols started the year 5-0 and have since lost three straight games. They now sit at 5-3 and are still chasing that sixth win.

South Carolina may have found their QB for the next few years in Jake Bentley. He is a true freshman but he didn’t play like one. In a huge game for South Carolina, Bentley completed 75 percent of his passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. Mix in the Gamecocks running back Rico Dowdle who ran for 127 yards and a score and South Carolina played a well-rounded game that ended with a win. Tennessee had a tough time defending the air and ground game all night.

Next Week: vs. Tennessee Tech

It seems that Tennessee will break this losing streak next week as they play host to Tennessee Tech next week. This game should get their confidence back up going into their final stretch of SEC play.

Penn State Nittany Lions

6-2

Last week: W @ Purdue 62-24Last rank: 24th

How about the Penn State Nittany Lions. They are on a four-game win streak and did not lose in the month of October. After upsetting then No. 2 Ohio State, the Nittany Lions traveled to West Lafayette and dropped 62 points on the Purdue Boilermakers.

After cracking into the AP top 25 last week, the Nittany Lions will be moving up again this week. They were tied at 17 with Purdue at half and then went on to score 24 points in the third quarter and 21 points in the fourth quarter, all while only giving up seven points in the second half. Running back Saquon Barkley ran for 207 yards and two scores along with Trace McSorley throwing for three more touchdowns.

Next Week: vs. Iowa

With the way that Penn State is playing right now, it seems unlikely for a team to roll into Happy valley and beat them. McSorley has been playing great during this win streak. Their defense has forced seven turnovers during this streak as well. Penn State should keep rolling.

Auburn Tigers

6-2

Last week: W @ Ole Miss 40-29Last rank: 15th

It was a hard fought game for the Auburn Tigers, but it was in the fourth quarter that they took control of the game. They scored 13 in the fourth and that was all they needed to pick up their fifth straight win. This win streak started with a win over LSU and is still going strong into November.

For Auburn, starting the year 1-2 was tough. They have not lost since then and they have looked good. This five game win streak has but them into the middle of the AP poll and with another win they moved up yet again. Their schedule favors them up until their game with Alabama.

Next Week: vs. Vanderbilt

Auburn will play host to 4-4 Vanderbilt next week. Auburn shouldn’t have a problem with Vanderbilt. The Tigers should win out up till their matchup with Alabama. That will be a true test for the Tigers and could be a top 10 matchup.
