Clemson OT Fruhmorgen out with injury

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:50 p.m. ET

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson starting right tackle Jake Fruhmorgen is expected to miss the Syracuse game with a shoulder injury.

Fruhmorgen is a 6-foot-5, 290-pound sophomore who had started the third-ranked Tigers eight previous games. He was injured in a 37-34 victory at Florida State last week.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said during the week that Fruhmorgen's health was good and was expected to start. However, shortly before kickoff the team announced freshman Sean Pollard would start and that Fruhmorgen was likely to miss the contest.

Pollard took over for Fruhmorgen against the Seminoles after the injury.
