JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Josh Clemons ran for 110 yards and three touchdowns to lead Jacksonville State to a convincing 40-21 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Eli Jenkins threw for 157 yards and added 76 more with a touchdown on the ground for the Gamecocks (4-1, 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference), who held a 217 advantage in total offense (446-229) and forced five turnovers defensively.

All three of Clemons' scores came in the first half, including a 26-yard run, and Jacksonville State held a 33-7 lead at the break.

Michael Birdsong hit Dontez Byrd for a 30-yard TD for Tennessee Tech (2-4, 2-2) to cut the score to 33-14, but the Gamecocks answered quickly with a Bryant Horn 31-yard touchdown strike to Shaq Davidson to put the game out of reach.
