Charlotte to host sixth consecutive ACC Football Championship Game
Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium, the home of the NFL's Carolina Panthers, will host the 2015 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game on Dec. 5, the conference announced on Thursday. It's the sixth straight year that the game will be played in Charlotte, N.C.
Last season, Charlotte was the setting for a thriller between Florida State and Georgia Tech. With a 37-35 win over the Yellow Jackets, the Seminoles claimed their third consecutive ACC Championship.
Since the game was instated back in 2005, Florida State has won five of the 10 league championships (2005, 2010, 2012-14). Clemson (2009, 2011) and Boston College (2007-08) have both won twice, while Wake Forest has taken the title once (2006).
No team has more losses in the ACC Championship Game than Virginia Tech's five, but Georgia Tech isn't far behind with four.
