(STATS) - Charleston Southern quarterback Kyle Copeland suffered a potentially serious knee injury during the team's 57-7 victory over Kentucky State on Saturday.

The redshirt junior was tackled just outside the Kentucky State goal line early in the second quarter. He fumbled the football into the end zone for a touchback and could be heard screaming about his right knee as he lay on the turf.

Copeland left the game on a stretcher.

The seventh-ranked Buccaneers (1-1) beat their Division II opponent 57-7.
