Central Arkansas rolls over Houston Baptist 56-13
CONWAY, Ark. (AP) Hayden Hildebrand threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Central Arkansas dominated Houston Baptist 56-13 to open the season with a Southland Conference victory.
Hildebrand, who threw for 163 yards in the first half, finished with 238 yards passing and 52 yards rushing.
Jatavious Wilson grabbed six passes for 100 yards and Desmond Smith gathered in six for 78 yards and one touchdown. Wilson had three catches in the first half for 56 yards as the Bears rolled to a 42-3 halftime lead. Carlos Blackman finished with 98 yards rushing on 15 carries.
Central Arkansas was ahead 42-0 with 6:32 left in the second quarter. The Bears racked up 554 total yards, 283 rushing and 271 passing, while limiting Houston Baptist to 242 yards. The Huskies had just 30 yards rushing.
Tony Dawson threw for 127 yards for the Huskies.
