Matt Lancaster passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more to lift Butler over Dayton in a 33-30 win Saturday.

Lancaster, who completed 18 of 27 passes, put the Bulldogs (7-3, 5-1 Pioneer League) on the scoreboard with a 56-yard scramble into the end zone. He threw a 20-yard TD pass to Dylan Johnson and a 6-yarder to Zack Wolfe, before plunging into the end zone from the 1-yard line to give the Bulldogs the comeback lead. Jonathan Treloar kicked two 33-yard field goals.

Dayton (6-3, 4-2) got a big day from Will Bardo, who passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns, including an 86-yard throw to Gary Hunter, and ran in a third score from the 18-yard line to give the Flyers a half-time lead that evaporated when Butler scored 24 unanswered points.

Both teams entered the game in a four-way tie for first place.
