POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) Joey DeFloria ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Bucknell past Marist, 26-10, in the season opener for both teams on Saturday.

It was the fourth time in five seasons that Bucknell has defeated Marist in week one.

RJ Nitti completed 11 of his 26 passes for 172 yards, including a 71-yard second quarter strike to Jack Horan, for Bucknell. Horan finished with 80 yards receiving on two catches.

The Red Foxes scored first on a 37-yard field goal by Mike Maccarone. But DeFloria answered with a 32-yard TD run which gave Bucknell a 7-3 lead which it did not relinquish. Marist struggled most of the night offensively, committing six turnovers including four interceptions thrown by Mike White.
