Bo Pelini gives cryptic answer for why commit switched to Ole Miss

Damore'ea Stringfellow isn't eligible to play college football this season, and when he does return to the field, it won't be for a Big Ten school as initially expected.

The wide receiver was a topic of discussion at Big Ten media days this week after shifting his commitment from Nebraska.

Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini was asked the situation, and this is what he reportedly had to say:

"Read between the lines. I think we all know what happened in that situation."

Pelini was then asked whether it's parents making their kids' decisions for them, and whether things change when recruits return home after making a decision, and if that's frustrating.

"Especially when it's a clueless parent," Pelini said.

Pelini's answers don't exactly clear the air about what led to Stringfellow changing his mind. In fact, if anything, they raise even more questions about what happened.

Washington coach Chris Peterson said in May that Stringfellow had decided to transfer from the school after being suspended two months earlier. In April, Stringfellow pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one count of mischief stemming from two incidents after the 2013 NFL Super Bowl in February.
