Bethune-Cookman runs past Delaware State 48-21

DOVER, Del. (AP) Backup quarterback Larry Brihm rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Bethune-Cookman rolled up 353 yards on the ground to defeat Delaware State 48-21 on Saturday.

Brihm had 19 carries and touchdown runs of 1 and 4 yards and Michael Jones had 98 yards on 12 carries and a 2-yard touchdown for the Wildcats (7-2, 5-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who scored five touchdowns on the ground.

Quentin Williams hit 7 of 9 passes for 103 yards with touchdowns of 7 yards to Frank Brown and 34 yards to Ja-Quan Lumas, which capped a run of 35 straight points early in the third quarter. Brihm also completed 3 of 4 passes for 33 yards as the Wildcats piled up 489 yards.

The Hornets (0-8, 0-5) opened the scoring when Logan Westcott returned a field goal blocked by Gabriel Sherrod 82 yards midway through the first quarter. Delaware State finished with 200 yards.
