Bet you didn't know: Urban Meyer has a chance to match Bobby Bowden this week

November 3, 2015

Ohio State football takes on Minnesota this Saturday night riding a 21-game winning streak that is the longest in the nation.

The top-ranked Buckeyes have also won 28 straight regular-season Big Ten games, leaving them one shy of a record held by a program coach Urban Meyer knows quite well.

If Ohio State beats the Golden Gophers, the Buckeyes will tie the NCAA FBS record for consecutive regular-season conference victories set by Florida State under legendary head coach Bobby Bowden from 1992-95.

Bowden and the Seminoles, who would later serve as rivals to Meyer when he was the head coach at Florida, saw their streak come to an end Nov. 3, 1995, at Virginia with a 33-28 loss that was their first ever in ACC play.
