Bears hoping the season's second half goes better than 2014

Published Oct. 6, 2015 5:50 p.m. ET

Cal started the 2014 season at 4-1 before faltering to a 5-7 record. Now, with a 5-0 record and a No. 23 ranking in the AP Poll, the Bears are hoping for a different result down the stretch.

The Bears are trying to go 6-0 for the first time since 1950; however, the road won't be easy as Cal has to travel to Salt Lake City to take on the fifth-ranked Utes.

“I’m anxious to see how it’s going to be different,” Cal coach Sonny Dykes said. “I expect it to be different. We think it’s going to be different. But we’ve got to go prove that.”

The Bears are clearly an improved team this season, but the road isn't easy from here on out. Cal's next four games are at Utah, at UCLA, USC and at Oregon.
