Bama LB commits on the spot, calls the Tide's offer a 'dream come true'
When a dream scenario presents itself, you had better jump at the opportunity to seize it and that's exactly what Oneonta linebacker Riley Cole did on Thursday. According to AL.com, Riley accepted his scholarship offer the moment it was presented to him.
"Coach (Nick) Saban said that they really liked the way that I performed at camp and they really loved my film and they offered me a scholarship," Cole said. "I took advantage of it and went ahead and committed."
Cole is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and recently won linebacker MVP honors at The Opening Atlanta Regional Camp in March.
Expect Cole's stock to rise in the coming months, but have no fear Tide fans, he won't be looking around after committing to the in-state school.
"I'm speechless," Cole said. "It's like a dream come true that this happened. I'm 100 percent committed. I've shut down my recruiting completely now."
Sounds like a fan favorite already.
