Auburn receiver Jaylon Denson appeared to seriously hurt his left knee on the opening drive at No. 6 LSU on Saturday night.

Denson appeared to be breaking free of LSU defensive backs for a potential big gain, but tripped on a rain-soaked field as he turned to track a pass lofted his way by Nick Marshall.

Denson remained on the field long after the pass fell incomplete. Trainers appeared to be performing stability tests on his knee to check for signs of ligament damage. Minutes later, Denson was carted off the field.

A junior from Hoover, Ala., Denson had three catches for 45 yards in Auburn's first three games this season.
