Quarterback DeAndre Presley rushed for 264 yards and two touchdowns to lead Appalachian State to a 42-14 victory on Saturday against Western Illinois in the second round of the FCS playoffs.

With an inch of snow on the ground and flurries throughout the afternoon, Appalachian State (10-2) used that to its advantage against the pass-oriented Leathernecks (9-5) with a pair of first-half interceptions, turning them into scores.

Appalachian State also rushed for 417 yards.

Presley scored on an 89-yard keeper - the longest in school playoff history - to put Appalachian State ahead 21-7. He passed for another score to Brian Quick to give the Mountaineers a 35-7 advantage.
