Travaris Cadet and Jamel Jackson combined for five touchdowns in Appalachian State's 35-17 rout of Samford on Saturday.

Jackson scored the game's first touchdown, rushing for 2 yards to give Appalachian State (5-2, 3-1 Southern Conference) a 7-3 lead. Jackson's first passing touchdown came on a 69-yard bomb to Brian Quick while his second, a 41-yard pass to Tony Washington, gave the Mountaineers a 28-10 third-quarter lead.

Jackson finished with 290 yards on 19-of-30 passing with two touchdowns and 40 rushing yards.

Cadet scored from 5-yards out in the second quarter and then again from 12 yards out in the fourth to give Appalachian State a 35-10 lead.

Dustin Taliaferro threw for 253 yards and a touchdown for Samford (4-3, 2-3) but was intercepted twice.

The win marked Appalachian State's 16th-straight regular-season home win and its 31st victory in its last 33 Southern Conference games.
