Albany (N.Y.) quarterback Dan Di Lella threw a school-record five touchdowns in a 63-35 rout of Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
The loss marked the most points the Blue Devils have allowed at home since 1993, when C.W. Post scored 72.
Di Lella finished 14 of 22 for 283 yards passing and ran for 75 yards and a touchdown. Albany (5-2, 4-0 Northeast Conference) has won five in a row.
Di Lella threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Paul Booker early in the third quarter to make it 42-21, then ran for 2 yards for a score with 6:34 left in the third to push the lead to 49-21. Then the Albany defense got involved, when Andrew Smith picked off Blue Devils backup quarterback Andrew Clements and went 38 yards for a touchdown.
Gunnar Jespersen threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns for the Blue Devils (2-6, 1-4 NEC).
