Alabama LB Tim Williams doesn't start 2 days after arrest
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Alabama star defender Tim Williams didn't start Saturday night against Kentucky.
The top-ranked Crimson Tide's outside linebacker was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a pistol without a permit early Thursday morning. Williams did dress out and go through pregame warmups with the team but was replaced by redshirt freshman Anfernee Jennings in the starting lineup.
Saban hasn't disclosed details of a punishment, saying in a statement Thursday that ''this kind of behavior is not condoned in our program.''
Williams emerged as a star pass rusher for the Tide last season, recording 10.5 sacks without starting a game. A projected first-round draft pick, Williams moved into the starting role this season.
He had 1.5 sacks, six tackles and a forced fumble through four games.
