Youngstown State slips past Wright State 80-75 (Jan 07, 2017)

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) Francisco Santiago scored 20 points, including the go-ahead bucket, and Youngstown State overtook Wright State for an 80-75 win Saturday.

Cameron Morse added 16 points for Youngstown State (8-9, 2-2 Horizon), Jorden Kaufman had 14 and Matt Donlan 11, including three 3-pointers. The Penguins caught up in the second half with 61 percent shooting and finished 48 percent overall.

Trailing by 14 at the break, Youngstown State kept chipping away, tying the game on Morse's layup before edging into its first lead since the opening minutes of the game with Braun Hartfield's free throw to make it 63-62 with 7:57 left.

Wright State (11-6, 2-2) tied the game at 65 and again at 68 before the Penguins took the lead for good on Santiago's jumper with 3:36 remaining.

The Raiders got 19 points from Steven Davis, Justin Mitchell had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Grant Benzinger finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Mark Alstork had 12 points.
