Wofford pushes past Ohio Valley 82-54

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) Karl Cochran hit five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Spencer Collins added 18 points, helping Wofford turn back Division-II Ohio Valley 82-54 on Tuesday night.

The Terriers (5-1) shot 49.1 percent from the field and hit 9 of 18 3-pointers. Justin Gordon chipped in 13 points and Jaylen Allen had 10 for Wofford.

Ohio Valley jumped out to an early 15-6 lead, but a quick 10-0 run put Wofford right back in it. Cochran hit all five of his 3-pointers in a five-minute stretch, helping the Terriers move to a 43-32 lead at the break. Collins had two layups and a pair of free throws during an 11-2 surge that made it 70-50 with 6:09 left.

The Fighting Scots were held to 21-of-55 shooting and committed 18 turnovers, leading to 23 points for Wofford. Robert Smelser paced Ohio Valley with 15 points and eight boards.
