Wilson leads Coastal Carolina's romp over Campbell, 97-68

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Elijah Wilson scored 21 points and Coastal Carolina erupted for 67 second-half points and pummeled Campbell 97-68 in a Big South match-up Saturday.

The victory is the fifth straight for the Chanticleers, who remain a game back of the three-way tie for first place in conference and comes on the heels of the overtime win over UNC-Asheville that created the logjam.

Colton Ray-St. Cyr hit a pair of free throws to spark a 22-2 run midway through the second half to break the game open.

Coastal Carolina was 33 of 56 shooting from the field (58.9 percent), knocking down 13 more shots than Campbell. The Chanticleers won the rebounding battle, 42-30.

Jaylen Shaw scored 17 points for Coastal Carolina (13-8, 7-4). Coastal Carolina was without Marcus Freeman, who will be sidelined for 3-4 weeks with a foot injury sustained during practice.

Kyre' Hamer led Campbell (8-13, 2-9) with 15 points.
