Brandon Britt scored 20 points and William & Mary held off Georgia State 69-65 on Wednesday night.

The Tribe (9-20, 4-13 Colonial Athletic Association) made 29 of 37 free throws, including 20 of 25 in the second half, while the Panthers (11-17, 6-11) were only 4 of 9 from the line for the game.

William & Mary led 67-58 with 20 seconds to go, then the Panthers got within two points, at 67-65, with 9 seconds left on a 3-pointer by Javonte Maynor, who hit seven 3's to finish with 21 points.

Quinn McDowell made two foul shots with 3 seconds to go, then rebounded Maynor's 3-point miss to send Georgia State to its third straight loss.

William & Mary, which has won two in a row after a four-game skid, never trailed and led by 13 points in the first half.

Georgia State cut the gap to two points, at 35-33 and 37-35, but the Tribe pushed the lead back into double digits.
