Wilbut's late 3 lifts CS Northridge over Cal Poly 76-74

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) Jerron Wilbut scored 15 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, and CS Northridge beat Cal Poly 76-74 on Thursday night.

Cal Poly went up 74-71 with 1:06 to go on Joel Awich's layup. Northridge's Aaron Parks made a pair at the line to get within one, then after an Awich miss, Wilbut grabbed the rebound and eventually drilled a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to make it 76-74.

On Cal Poly's last possession, Reese Morgan missed inside, but grabbed the rebound and kicked it outside but Awich missed a 3 at the horn.

CS Northridge (7-12, 2-3 Big West) got 11 points from Zacarry Douglas, while Parks and Tre Hale-Edmerson both added 10.

David Nwaba and Brian Bennett led Cal Poly (7-10, 1-3 Big West) with 14 points apiece. Awich finished with nine points.

A close game throughout, Cal Poly led 40-39 at intermission.
