J.T. Durley scored 13 points to help Wichita State to its eighth straight victory in a 65-51 win over Illinois State on Friday night.

The Shockers (13-2, 4-0 Missouri Valley) went ahead late in the first half and never trailed after that. They led by as many as 22 points in the second half.

Garrett Stutz added 10 points for Wichita State while Toure Murry led the team in rebounds with eight. The Shockers shot 49.1 percent from the field.

Austin Hill led the game in scoring with 14 points for the Redbirds (8-7, 0-4) but was the only Illinois State player to score in double digits.

The Redbirds led by as many as four points midway through first half but quickly went cold, scoring only six points in the roughly 7 1/2 minutes before intermission and allowing the Shockers to take control.
